Rotštejn Castle

The rocks Rotštejn Castle ( German: Rothstein ) is a located in about 450 m altitude ruins of a rock castle in the Liberec Region in the Czech Republic. It is located in the rocky town of Klokočí in the north of the Bohemian Paradise.

History

It was probably built in the second half of the 13th century; the first mention dates to the year 1318. Already in 1433 it is described as squalid.

The castle consisted predominantly of wood. Get some walls, walkways, a fountain and carved into the stone rooms.

Additions

Reachable the ruin is on a yellow -marked trail, from the west of Turnov, from the east from Kozákov. The location on the edge of the rock city allows a good view, which is limited to the eastern area.
