Rotta is a district of the city Kemberg in Wittenberg district in Saxony- Anhalt.
Geography
Rotta is about 15 km southwest of Wittenberg on the edge of the Natural Park Duebener Heath. As a district of the former municipality Reuden, Gniest and colony were reported Gniest.
History
1323 the village was first mentioned.
Reuden 1637 was affected by witch hunts. Margaret, wife of Andreas Stitter, got into a witch trial.
On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality Rotta was incorporated together with the communities Dabrun, Eutzsch, Rackith, Radis, Schleesen, Selbitz, Uthausen and wait castle in the city Kemberg. At the same time the management of Community Kemberg to the Rotta belonged, was dissolved.
