Selbitz is a district of the city Kemberg in Wittenberg district in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Selbitz, located about 12 km southwest of Wittenberg on the edge of the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve.

History

1388 Selbitz was first mentioned in documents as Slewitz.

Due to its location at the edge of the floodplain Selbitz was how the surrounding villages Seegrehna, mountain wit and Rehsen, strongly affected by the same flood of 2002.

On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality Selbitz was incorporated together with the communities Dabrun, Eutzsch, Rackith, Radis, Rotta, Schleesen, Uthausen and wait castle in the city Kemberg. At the same time the management of Community Kemberg, belonged to the Selbitz was dissolved.

Culture and sights
