Rotterdam School
Rotterdam School ( Dutch: Rotterdamse School) refers to a group of Rotterdam composers.
The members of the " Rotterdam School" are not connected by common style or aesthetics; therefore can not be spoken of a "school" in the traditional sense. The term "the Rotterdam School" goes back to Otto Ketting; the connection of these composers was created primarily by the direction of Peter -Jan Wagemans and Klaas de Vries colloquia at the Rotterdam Academy of Music, in which the composer presented their compositions and aesthetic positions for discussion. The " Rotterdam School" had in the Rotterdam theater Lantaren / vindow from the early 1990s until 2008, a concert series, were presented in the especially world premieres.
