Rousham House

Rousham House is a country house with landscaped garden in Oxfordshire, England. It lies on the River Cherwell about 18 kilometers north of Oxford. The property is situated since the 17th century in the possession of the Dormer family that inhabits it even today. The landscaped garden, begun in 1738 is important as a barely altered early work William Kent. Significant contemporaries, among them Alexander Pope and Horace Walpole, considered him one of the most beautiful gardens of their time.
