Rovi Corporation

Rovi Corporation is a U.S. corporation headquartered in Santa Clara, California. The company was founded in 1983 as Macrovision Corporation, and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange NASDAQ under the symbol ROVI. The renamed Rovi Corporation in July 2009.

Main business is the manufacturing and marketing of solutions for copy protection, digital content licensing and digital rights management ( DRM) technology.

The branch in Germany is located in Haibach ( francs).

Rovi has the British company C- Dilla ( SafeCast ), the U.S. company InstallShield and ZeroG and in February 2011, the German Nowtilus online distribution company bought up (Video -on -demand services clients include media market, Bild.de and Telefónica Germany ).

In 2008 Rovi sold the business software division, which was renamed Acresso. The sale included were the solutions FLEXnet and InstallShield.

On February 7, 2012, the subsidiary company Roxio, the distribution among other software for home, sold to Corel.
