Rovná (Sokolov District)

Rovná ( German Ebmeth ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south of Sokolov and belongs to Okres Sokolov.

Geography

Rovná is located at the edge of a plateau in the northwest of Imperial Forest.

Neighboring towns are Kamenice and Lobzy in the north, Podstrani in the east, Nová Ves and Prameny the southeast, Krasna Lipa and Bystrina in the west and Kostelní Bříza and Rudolec in the northwest.

History

The village was founded by German colonists. The first mention of Ebnode was in 1370 in a Lehnsregister the Landgrave of Leuchtenberg. Over the years the name changed in Ebmeth. Other owners of the place were the silts, joined the the place where the rule of Sokolov. After the Battle of White Mountain left the Protestant line of this generation, Bohemia. Their property was confiscated and sold in 1622 to Messrs. Nostic. 1785 was the site of 52 houses. 1840 Ebmeth had grown to 73 stores and had 531 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ebmeth formed in 1850 a district of the municipality in the district of Sokolov Frohnau. 1873 was the community Ebmeth. 1930 lived in Ebmeth 348 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 285 After the Munich Agreement in 1938, the community was incorporated into the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district of Sokolov. After the end of World War II, the place came back to Czechoslovakia. 1946 was the expulsion of the Germans. The village was not resettled and incorporated into the training area Císařský les, later Truppenübungsplatz ( VVP ) Prameny. The 1947, cleared the place name Rovná. In the same year the houses were torn down to the ground. After the abolition of the VVP Prameny 1954, the corridors of Rovná from the military district were annexed into the community Kostelní Bříza.

1961 was the place from 9 houses and had 21 inhabitants. In the mid-1960s began on the middle and upper part of the village demolished the building of a socialist model village in bricks. On 1 January 1969, the plate settlement was given the status of a municipality. After 1970 an agricultural school was established in Rovná. 1975 critical views on the construction of the housing estate were expressed within the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. In the 1980s, the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague taught in the pattern of a village a study center for students from developing countries. During this period, the model proved to be a failure. Due to lack of jobs in the place sat a large exodus of residents in the industrial areas of the Sokolov Basin. To counteract this trend, were settled in the 1990s in Rovná Wolhynientschechen. Rovná consisted in 2001 of 28 houses and 598 inhabitants had. By now, most of the prefab are highly in need of rehabilitation.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Rovná Podstrani ( Gaber houses) and Rovná ( Ebmeth ). Basic settlement units are Bystrina ( Reichenbach ), Čistá ( Lauterbach ), Krasna Lipa ( Schönlind ) Milíře ( Kohling ) Podstrani, Rovná and Vranov ( Frohnau ). In addition, the deserted village Chalupy heard ( Ehrlich) to Rovná.

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Bystrina u Rovné, Čistá u Rovné, Krasna Lipa Rovné u, u Milíře Rovné, Rovná u Sokolova and Vranov u Rovné.
