Rowlett is a city in Rockwall County and Dallas County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States and is part of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.

Geography

The city is located in northeast Texas, about 30 km northeast of Dallas, 6 km east of Garland, in the west of Rockwall counties, dates back to the Dallas County, bordered on the east and south by Lake Ray Hubbard, on the west by Rowlett Creek and has a total area of 52.4 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.

History

Was named the place after Dr. Daniel Rowlett, who came in 1836 in this area and settled here.

According to the census of 2000, there were 44 503 people in 14,266 households and 12,354 families. The population density was 849.4 inhabitants per km ².
