Dallas County (Texas)

The Dallas County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Dallas.

Geography

The County is located north-east of the geographic center of Texas and is in the north about 80 km from the state of Oklahoma away. History

Dallas County was established on March 30, 1846 from parts of Nacogdoches County and Robertson County. It was named for George M. Dallas, the 11th Vice President of the United States. 1861, the population of the county opted for secession. The County itself was spared by the civil war, but fought about 1,300 men from the field in the Army of the South.
