The Gonzales County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county administration is in Gonzales.

Geography

The County is located southeast of the geographic center of Texas, about 140 km from the Gulf of Mexico and has an area of ​​2771 square kilometers, of which 5 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Fayette County, Lavaca County, DeWitt County, Karnes County, Wilson County, Guadalupe County and Caldwell County.

History

Gonzales County was formed in 1836 as an original county. It was named after the town of Gonzales.

Demographic data
