The Bastrop County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Bastrop.

Geography

History

Bastrop County was formed in 1836 as an original county. Was named the county and the city by Felipe Enrique Neri, Baron de Bastrop, an early German settlers. 1850, the population was 2,180 people including 919 slaves. By 1860, the number of inhabitants tripled.
