Bastrop County, Texas
The Bastrop County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Bastrop.
Geography
The County is located in the central and southeast Texas has an area of 2,320 square kilometers, of which 20 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Williamson County, Lee County, Fayette County, Gonzales County, Caldwell County and Travis County.
Climate

History
Bastrop County was formed in 1836 as an original county. Was named the county and the city by Felipe Enrique Neri, Baron de Bastrop, an early German settlers. 1850, the population was 2,180 people including 919 slaves. By 1860, the number of inhabitants tripled.

According to the census in 2000 lived in Bastrop County 57 733 people in 20,097 households and 14,771 families. The population density was 25 people per square kilometer. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.23 persons.
28.0 percent of the population was under 18 years old, 7.6 percent between 18 to 24, 31.3 percent between 25 and 44, 22.9 percent between 45 and 64 and 10.3 percent were 65 years of age or older. The average age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 105.5 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.8 males.
The median income for a household was $ 43,578, and the median income for a family was $ 49,456. Males have a median income of $ 32,843, women $ 25,536. The per capita income was $ 18,146. 8.4 percent of families and 11.6 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
