Schleicher County, Texas

The Schleicher County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Eldorado.

Geography

The County is located about 40 km east of the geographic center of Texas, situated about 60 km to the south of Mexico and has an area of ​​3395 square kilometers, of which 1 square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Tom Green County, Menard County, Sutton County, Crockett County and Irion County.

History

Schleicher County was formed in 1887 from parts of Crockett County. It was named after Gustav Schleicher, an early engineer, surveyor and lawyers in Texas.
