Scurry County, Texas

The Scurry County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Snyder.

Geography

The County is located about 100 km north-west of the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​2350 square kilometers, of which 13 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Kent County, Fisher County, Mitchell County, Borden County and Garza County.

History

Scurry County was formed in 1876 from parts of Bexar County. It was named after William Read Scurry, a lawyer and general in the Confederate Army.
