Geography

The County is located in the far north of Texas, the Texas Panhandle, bordered to the north and Oklahoma is in the west about 50 miles from New Mexico removed. History

Sherman County was formed in 1876 from parts of Bexar County. It was named for Sidney Sherman, a soldier in the Texas Revolution.
