The Nacogdoches County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Nacogdoches.

Geography

The County is located in East Texas, about 40 km from Arkansas and has an area of ​​2542 square kilometers, of which 90 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Rusk County, Shelby County, San Augustine County, Angelina County and Cherokee County.

History

Nacogdoches County was formed in 1836 as an original county. It was named after the Nacogdoches Indians.
