The Wise County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Decatur.

Geography

The County is located north-east of the geographic center of Texas, is about 40 miles from Oklahoma away and has an area of ​​2390 square kilometers, of which 47 square kilometers are water surface. History

Wise County was formed in 1856 from parts of Cooke County. It was named after Henry A. Wise, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and the 38th Governor of Virginia.
