Geography

The County is located in northeast Texas, is located in the north about 80 of Oklahoma and in the West about 150 miles from Arkansas and has an area of ​​2090 square kilometers, of which 54 square kilometers are water surface. History

Kaufman County was formed in 1848 from parts of Henderson County. It was named for David Spangler Kaufman, a Texas senator and member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
