Hall County (Texas)

The Hall County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Memphis.

Geography

The County is located north of the geographic center of Texas in the Texas Panhandle, about 40 km from Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2342 square kilometers, of which 3 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Donley County, Collingsworth County, Childress County, Cottle County, Motley County Briscoe County.

History

Hall County was formed in 1876 from parts of Bexar County and Young County. It was named for Warren DC Hall, a Minister of War of the Republic of Texas.

Demographic data
