Terrell County (Texas)

The Terrell County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Sanderson.

Geography

The County is located in west-central Texas, on the south by Mexico and has an area of ​​6107 square kilometers, without significant water surface. The county is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Pecos County, Crockett County, Val Verde County and Brewster County.

History

Terrell County was formed in 1905 from parts of Pecos County. It was named after Alexander Watkins Terrell, prosecutor, judge, diplomat and officer in the Confederate cavalry and later U.S. Senator from Texas.
