Jasper County (Texas)

The Jasper County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Jasper.

Geography

The County is located in East Texas and is about 25 km from the border with Louisiana removed and the south of the county is about 50 km from the Gulf of Mexico. History

Jasper County was formed in 1836 as an original county. It was named for William Jasper, a hero of the American Revolutionary War.
