The Burnet County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( County Seat) is located in Burnet.

Geography

The County is located east of the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​2644 square kilometers, of which 65 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Lampasas County, Bell County, Williamson County, Travis County, Blanco County, Llano County and San Saba County.

History

Burnet County was formed in 1852 from parts of Bell County, Travis County and Williamson County. It was named after David G. Burnet, the first president of the Republic of Texas.

Demographic data
