Crosby County, Texas

The Crosby County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county administration is in Crosbyton. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

The County is located north-west of the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​2335 square kilometers, of which 6 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Floyd County, Dickens County, Garza County and Lubbock County.

History

Crosby County was formed in 1876 from parts of Bexar County and Young County. It was named for Stephen Crosby, a police commissioner of Texas.
