The Parker County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Weatherford.

Geography

The County is located about 120 km north-east of the geographic center of Texas, is part of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex and has an area of ​​2357 square kilometers, of which 17 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Wise County, Tarrant County, Johnson County, Hood County, Palo Pinto County and Jack County.

History

Parker County was formed in 1855 from parts of Bosque County and Navarro County. It was named for Isaac Parker, an early jurists of Texas.

Demographic data
