Llano County, Texas

The Llano County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Llano.

Geography

The County lies to the east, near the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​2502 square kilometers, of which 81 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: San Saba County, Burnet County, Blanco County, Gillespie County and Mason County.

History

Llano County was formed in 1856 from parts of Bexar County and Gillespie County. It was named for the Llano River.

Demographic data

According to the census in 2000 lived in Llano County 17,044 people in 7,879 households and 5,365 families. The population density was 7 people per square kilometer.
