Comal County, Texas

The Comal County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( County Seat) is located in New Braunfels.

Geography

The County is located about 100 km south-east of the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​1488 square kilometers, of which 34 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Blanco County, Hays County, Guadalupe County, Bexar County and Kendall County.

History

Comal County was formed in 1846 from parts of Bexar County. It was named after the Comal River.

Demographic data

According to the census in 2000 in Comal County 78 021 people living in 29 066 households and 21 886 families. The population density was 54 people per square kilometer.
