Geography

The County is located southwest of the geographic center of Texas and is about 40 km from Mexico. It has an area of ​​5491 square kilometers, without significant water surface. The county is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Sutton County, Kimble County, Kerr County, Real County, Kinney County and Val Verde County.

History

Edwards County was formed in 1858 from parts of Bexar County. It was named for Haden Edwards, one of the first settlers of Nacogdoches County.
