Geography

The County lies to the west of the geographic center of Texas, about 70 km off the south-eastern border with New Mexico and has an area of ​​2336 square kilometers, of which 4 square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Martin County, Glasscock County, Upton County, Ector County and Andrews County.

History

Midland County was formed in 1885 from parts of Tom Green County. It was named after the eponymous area between Fort Worth and El Paso.
