Atascosa County, Texas

The Atascosa County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Jourdanton.

Geography

The County is located in southeast Texas and has an area of 3,200 square kilometers, of which 9 square kilometers of water are. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Bexar County, Wilson County, Karnes County, Live Oak County, McMullen County, La Salle County, Frio County and Medina County.

History

Atascosa County was formed on August 4, 1856 from parts of Bexar County with Navatasco as the first county seat.

The average age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
