Geography

The County is located about 100 km north-east of the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​2552 square kilometers, of which 84 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Jack County, Parker County, Hood County, Erath County, Stephens County and Young County.

History

Palo Pinto County was formed in 1856 from parts of Bosque County and Navarro County. It was named after the Palo Pinto Creek.
