Kendall County (Texas)

The Kendall County is a county located in the state of Texas in the United States. The seat of the county government ( county seat ) is located in Boerne.

Geography

The County is located about 80 km south-east of the geographic center of Texas and has an area of ​​1717 square kilometers, of which 2 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Gillespie County, Blanco County, Comal County, Bexar County, Bandera County and Kerr County.

History

The Kendall County was formed in 1862 from parts of Blanco County and Kerr County. It was named for George Wilkins Kendall, an early journalists and commentators in the Mexican-American War.
