Geography

Wylie is part of the Dallas- Fort Worth and is located 23.3 miles northeast of Dallas, it covers 86.2 km ².

Demographics

At the census in 2000 7.468 males ( 50.6 % =) were determined at a total population of 15,132 persons ( = 49.4 %) and 7,664 women. The average age of residents is 30.7 years, the average household income at 58,400 dollars ( 2005). 85.1 % of the population are White, 2.1% African American, 1.5 % Native American, 4.3% other, 1.9 % have a mixed ethnic background. 10.4% of the population are Hispanic or Latino (which different ethnic groups can be attributed).

14.3 % of residents have German roots, 12.3% are Irish, 9.6% United Kingdom, 2.9% French and 2.0% Italian origin.
