RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta ( RnaG; Irish for Gaeltacht Radio ), the Irish-language radio program of Radio Éireann is Telefís ( RTÉ ) in Ireland and can in Ireland on FM 92.6 to 94.4 MHz ( 102.7 MHz in the northeast ) and Internet be received. It took on 2 April 1972 as the second legal radio stations into operation on. Originally sent RnaG only a few hours a day, but after the fourth national program RTÉ Lyric FM broadcast, the station expanded its operation from 1 October 2001 to 24 hours out.

RnaG is in Casla, County Galway, stationed. In addition, there are studios in Gweedore, Co. Donegal, Baile na nGall in Ard na Caithne, County Kerry; Castlebar, Co. RnaG has long been criticized for having a "no - English texts " policy that excluded almost all of popular music, and thus did not reach even the young audience. Other voices pointed out that the transmitter provides a much needed means of communication for the Irish, the majority is a minority language in Ireland. For many years it was the only Irish-language station. Only in recent years have a television, Telefís na Gaeilge ( TG4 ) with headquarters in Baile na hAbhann, and some local radio stations, such as the independent stations Raidió na Life in Dublin added.

In March 2005, RTÉ announced that RnaG would send in a new Popsendung 21:00 to 1:00 clock also songs with English lyrics. In April 2005, the schema named Anocht FM ( Tonight FM ) has been introduced.
