Rumiana Jeleva

Rumjana Ruseva Jeleva (also written Ruseva Rumiana Jeleva, Bulgarian Румяна Русева Желева; born April 18, 1969 in Nowa Zagora ) is a Bulgarian politician and sociologist. She was from July 2009 to January 2010, Foreign Minister of Bulgaria and was a member of the European Parliament for the GERB party and among other things, previously a lecturer at the Otto -von- Guericke- University Magdeburg.

She is a member of the Berlin Forum ( International network of business ethics ), the Rotary Club of Burgas and the European Association for Rural Sociology.

2007 Rumjana Jeleva was voted in the European elections in 2007 from the list of GERB Member of the European Parliament. In the European elections 2009, she was re-elected.

After the Bulgarian parliamentary elections in 2009, which was won by the party GERB, Rumjana Jeleva was sworn in on 27 July as Foreign Minister in the government of Boyko Borisov. For them Andrej Kowatschew moved by the European Parliament.

In November 2009, Jeleva was nominated as a member of the European Commission. In the Barroso II Commission should hold the department Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection.
