Runnin 'Wild is the first studio album by the Australian rock band Airbourne and at the same time their major label debut.

Formation

After the positive response to the 2004 debut album, the band moved more and more in the interest of the public. So they played, among others, as the opening act for the Rolling Stones and Motley Crue. Due to increased public awareness of several record companies showed interest to take the band under contract. The band signed for their second studio album on Capitol Records. Producer of the album was Bob Marlette, Andy Wallace took care of the mix. The duo had already worked for Bruce Springsteen, Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper. The recordings took place in Los Angeles, where the band members had temporarily transferred their residence.

After three months of preparation, the band went into the studio to start rehearsing. A large part of the pieces had already played the group finished and also in live performance, which is why only a few new pieces had to be composed. Then the recordings, which lasted about three and a half months began. At the end of the recordings Capitol was taken over 75% of the Virgin Group and a large part of the band lost their record contract, as well as Airbourne. With a finished album they went on a search for a new record company, which was found in Roadrunner Records. The album was first released on 27 June 2007 exclusively in Australia. In North America and the UK, the publication in January 2008 and in Europe on 30 May 2008.

The songs Diamond in the Rough, Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast and Runnin 'Wild were each released as a single. The album was honored by Metal Hammer as the best debut album in 2008.

In addition, in September 2008, a version of the album was released, grows with a slipcase with new artwork and a bonus DVD. On the DVD is a live recording of the performance from the Wacken Open Air 2008 and music videos are included with the previous singles.
