Features

Macroscopic characteristics

The cap is 2-5 cm wide and quite fleshy in relation to the size. He's quick spread or depressed, with a flattened center. The edge is slightly tuberculate - striate in age. The hat is yellow, either bright lemon yellow ( citrinfarben ) or rare yolk or apricot. Older specimens may fade. Unlike other Chamaeleontinen the hat is not dyed red and has no reddish shades on. The almost completely removable hat skin is shiny even when dry, in damp weather it is often a bit greasy.

The wide apart, and quite thick lamellae are grown on a stick thin. They are more or less saffron yellow and often have an ocher orange reflex. The cutting edges of the blades are often brightly colored. Also, the spore powder has an intense yellow color ( IVd by Romagnesi ).

The slender, delicate stem is 2-3 ( -6) cm long and 0.3-1 cm wide. He will be in soon pithy and is easily compressible. At the age he is mostly hollow and slightly wrinkled. He is white, rarely tinged slightly pink and sometimes dirty yellowish. At the age it can also easily be grayish.

The white flesh is soft, very fragile and a mild taste. The young mushroom is almost odorless. Only mature or permanent copies clearly smell of vinegar, pickles or mustard. The meat is slow to respond with ferrous sulfate and turns it pale pink. The guaiac reaction is slow and weak.

Microscopic characteristics

The spores are 7-9 ( -9.5 ) long and 6-7.5 microns wide and fairly isolated, prickly warts. The cystidia are hardly noticeable, they are appendikuliert more or less, and react only weakly with sulfobenzaldehyde. The hyphal end cells are clavate or capitate, 4-7 microns wide and divided. The Primordialhyphen are 5-7 microns wide. They are often completely encrusted. The latex tubes can be stained with sulfo - benzaldehyde.

Artabgrenzung

The Shiny Yellow yolk Täubling different than moving colored or the other yolk - Täublingen by his old age and dryness unpleasant vinegar smell ( like cucumbers in vinegar brine).

He reminds us a little of the sun Täubling, which also smells like vinegar or mustard, but clearly sharp tastes.

In rare instances, well can also coniferous trees serve as hosts. You can find the Täubling in oak-hornbeam and beech forests. The Täubling has a preference for more or less moist soils.

The rare Täubling was in Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Spain and the UK demonstrated ( including Northern Ireland ) and Ireland.

System

Infra Generic Systematics

The Shiny Yellow yolk Täubling provided by M. Bon in the sub-section Chamaeleontinae, a subsection of the section Lilaceae ( Incrustatae ). The subsection contains mild russulas with yellow spore powder and usually feinsamtiger hat skin. Under the microscope can be seen in the hat skin encrusted Primordialhyphen and with more or less clavate or capitate hyphal end cells.

Importance

The mild -tasting Täubling is classified by the French Society of Mycology considered edible. However, since the species is quite rare and the fruiting bodies are quite small and very brechlich who plays as edible mushroom Russula not matter.
