Rybniště

Rybniště ( German pond instead ) is a municipality in the north of the Czech Republic, through which the European watershed between the North and Baltic Sea runs, at the northern foot of the Lusatian Mountains, about 8 km southwest of Varnsdorf. Rybniště has 720 inhabitants and an area of 1271 ha

History

In 1715 founded the owner of the domain Kamenice - the Count Kinsky - instead of drained and dried up pond a scattered settlement. There used textile industry, and later a glass factory, which burned down in World War II. Through the village runs the European Watershed, the water is diverted into two seas. In the village, founded in 1833 are some houses, whose roofs water flows both toward the Baltic Sea and in the other in the North Sea. Instead pond formed from the mid-19th century, a municipality in the district court warning village. Until 1945, German Bohemia formed the majority.

The landmark of the village is the Church of St. Joseph in Art Nouveau style from 1912, a work by Anton Möller warning village.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Rybniště Nová Chřibská ( New Kreibitz ) and Rybniště ( pond instead ), which at the same time also form Katastralbezirke.
