Career

Ryu Han -su began as a teenager in 1999 with the rings. He concentrated on the Greco- Roman style. As a Freshman he was one of the wrestlers Club Kyungsung at university. His coaches were or are Tae Young, Kim Jin -kyu, Park Chi -ho and Lee Jung -sub. Since completing his studies, he is member of the military, belonging to the club Sangmu Seoul.

As a junior he was very successful. In 2006 he was in Abu Dhabi Asian junior champion ( Juniors) at featherweight. In the same year he won at the Junior World Championship ( Juniors) in Guatemala City in the same weight class behind Islambek Albijew, Russia and Soner sucu, Turkey, the 3rd place. In 2007, he came at the Junior World Championship ( Juniors) in Beijing in spring weight behind Rahman Bilici, Turkey and Ibragim Labasanow, Russia, back to 3rd place. In 2008 he was finally once again Asian junior champion ( Juniors) at featherweight before Nurdaulet Jelmuratow, Kazakhstan and Bishroi Basilal, India.

The transition from the top wrestler in the junior age at the top wrestler in the seniors, Ryu Han -su no problem. That's why he did not make it in the years 2009 to 2012, to qualify in South Korea to participate in an international championship. However, this was also the fact that the competition in their own country is very large. It may be mentioned here only Kim Min - chul and the Olympic champion of 2012 Kim Hyeon -woo. When the latter moved to the welterweight division in 2013 from lightweight, the road to the South Korean national team wrestler in the Greco -Roman style was free for Ryu Han -su. He was then employed in September 2013 at the World Championships in Budapest in lightweight and joined in well prepared. With victories over Sharur Vardanyan, Sweden, Matous Morbitzer, Czech Republic, Sandeep Yadav, India and Aleksandar Maksimovic, Serbia, he made ​​it into the final, where he faced Islambek Albijew. In a balanced battle, in which two wrestlers from a round had been won, respectively, led the Russian in the third round just on points. About a minute before the end of the fight Ryu Han -su was sent by the referee because of passivity to the ground, which Albijew got the chance to put a handle and win the fight that way. Inexplicably, sat Albijew this handle not, but thinks Matt Richter several times in succession the allegedly irregular position of Ryu Han -su. The judges called Albijew on several times, finally carry on the struggle, as this is then still not doing, he was disqualified and Ryu Han -su was world champion.
