Sablé-sur-Sarthe

Sablé- sur -Sarthe (often only Sablé ) is a French town with 12,324 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Sarthe Pays de la Loire region.

Sablé- sur -Sarthe is located in La Flèche, 60 km from Le Mans, 62 km from Angers and about 250 km south-west of Paris. The city is located at the Sarthe and the river Vaige and erve, which open into the Sarthe in the city of Sablé.

Attractions

Castle

The image of the city is dominated by the castle, which is situated on a mountain ridge above the small harbor. The castle was built in the 18th century on the foundations of an older fortification, which was strategically situated on the border of the provinces of Anjou and Maine.

Cultural events
