Safor

Safor (also La Safor ) is a comarca in the Spanish province of Valencia with its capital in Gandia.

It includes, among others, the cities and towns Oliva, Piles, Daimús and Piles.

Location

Safor is located directly on the Mediterranean coast and is surrounded by the Comarcas Ribera Baja ( valenc.: Ribera Baixa ) and Ribera Alta in the north, Costera and Valle de Albaida ( valenc.: Vall d' Albaida ) in the west and Marina Alta in the south.

Coast

For many of the larger communities near the coast, a beach settlement, after the name of the church, preceded by " Platja de " part ( Valencian, Castilian Playa de ) is named. From Daimús to Piles ( Valencia) are five of these " Platjas " almost without interruption next to each other and share the common beach promenade, making it possible to walk from one place to another. Here you will pass (from north to south) Platja de Daimús, Platja de Guardamar de la Safor, Platja de Piles, Platja de Miramar, and Platja de Piles. Striking here is that every community has a different paving and various street lamps used, so that their appearance is always changing on the about 5 kilometer route.
