Sagarejo Municipality

Sagaredschos Munizipaliteti (Georgian საგარეჯოს მუნიციპალიტეტი ) is a Munizipaliteti (Landkreis) in Georgia, in the Kakheti region. The administrative center is the city of Sagaredschos Munizipaliteti Sagarejo. The area is 1491 km ². The Munizipaliteti has 60 396 inhabitants.

The Munizipaliteti bounded on the west by the Gardabnis and Mzchetis Munizipaliteti, in the east of the Sighnaghis and Gurdschaanis Munizipaliteti, in the north of the Tianetis, Achmetis and Telawis Munizipaliteti and in the south of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In the Sagaredschos Munizipaliteti are several major attractions. Here is the village Udscharma, which was an important and significant political center of the country in the Middle Ages. In Udscharma built a residence in the 5th century by the Georgian King Vakhtang Gorgasali. In the village is still existing castle of Udscharma. Another important attraction is Munizipaliteti Dawit Gareja, an important religious center of the medieval Georgia.
