Sahara Hotnights
The Sahara Hotnights is a rock band whose members are from Umeå in Sweden or Robertsfors come.
History
The band was formed, influenced by groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam in the first half of the 1990s, when the members were each 9-10 years old; since 1996 they officially play under the name Sahara Hotnights. Consisting of Maria Andersson, Josephine Forsman and sisters Jennie and Johanna Asplund managed the band in 1997, the breakthrough at a Youth Festival, in which they won the financing of an EP recording. Suits Anyone Fine, was released the same year. Withdrawn from the Swedish label Speech under contract, they released a short time later their first album C'mon, Let's Pretend, which sold 40,000 units.
Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters founder Dave Grohl, after Sahara Hotnights have occurred in the opening act of the Foo Fighters, one of the biggest fans of the band.
In 2001 they released their second album on BMG: Jennie Bomb.
The time between Jennie Bomb and the next album Sahara Hotnights spent especially on tour, where they tried other emerging bands in their careers to support. Of particular note here are the Hives.
Was released in 2004 the album titled Kiss & Tell. Three years later, in April 2007, appeared in What If Leaving Is A Loving Thing, it shows poplastiger than its predecessors. The band went to Sweden on an extensive tour, playing before mostly sold-out houses. In May 2008, Sahara Hotnights signed a contract with the record label Bad Taste Records. What If Leaving Is A Loving Thing was released in the fall of 2008 in many European countries and the band toured in Europe. In February 2009, first appeared in Sweden, the cover album Sparks. In the past decade, Sahara Hotnights each had a cover in their live repertoire. These ten items are now collected on one album.
