Saint-Barthélemy-de-Bussière
Saint- Barthélemy- de - Bussière, Occitan Sent Bartomiu de Bussiera, is a commune with 232 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region. It belongs to the district Nontron and Canton Bussière- Badil. The area of the municipality is also part of the Périgord -Limousin Regional Natural Park.
Etymology
The Occitan word Bussiera, French Bussière is derived from buis with the meaning beech trees. Sent Bartomiu or Saint- Barthelemy, derived from the Latin Sanctus Bartholomaeus, is the Holy Bartholomew.
Geography
The municipality of Saint- Barthélemy- de - Bussière in the north of the Perigord is located about 11 kilometers from Saint -Mathieu and around 21 kilometers from Nontron. Closest towns are Angoulême (48 km west ) and Limoges ( 58 km northeast of Saint- Barthélemy- de - Bussière ).

Geology

History
