Saint-Germain-la-Chambotte

Saint- Germain- la- Chambotte is a town in the French department of Savoie in the Rhone -Alpes.

Geography

Saint- Germain- la- Chambotte is located on 480 m above sea level. M., near Aix -les- Bains, about 23 km north of the town of Chambery (air line). The village is located in the western Albanais, in a broad basin of Albenche, on Nordostfuß of Mont de Corsuet, which separates the Albanais from Lake Bourget.

History

In the Middle Ages, Saint- Germain- la- Chambotte was the property of the lords of Montfalcon. The parish was the priory of Saint- Innocent dependent. In 1936, the Municipality of Saint- Germain in Saint- Germain- la- Chambotte has been renamed.

Attractions

The parish church of Saint- Germain- la- Chambotte was built in the 19th century. The Belvédère La Chambotte was built in 1882 and visited in 1887 by Queen Victoria. From La Chambotte offers a nice view of the Lac du Bourget.

Population
