Salvatore Zizzo (2011)

Salvatore " Sal" Zizzo ( born April 3, 1987 in San Diego, California, USA) is an American football player. He has next to American citizenship an Italian passport, since his parents originate from Palermo.

Career

Association

Zizzo began with the UCLA Bruins to play soccer. Between 2006 and 2007, he completed 13 games in which he scored 5 goals for Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League, the fourth- highest division of the United States. It is popular as a purely amateur league among students and older students, as they can gain experience there in a football club.

End of July 2007 Zizzo moved to Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga. The 1.80 m wide midfielder playing on the right wing. He contributed to the Lower Saxony will wear the number 37 for the largest part of the 2007/08 season he played for the league team, only on the last two days he came in the pros used. On 2 July 2009 Zizzo was loaned to Fortuna Dusseldorf for the 2009/2010 season. This agreement was disbanded a short time later because he had contracted a stomach or intestinal flu. His contract with Hannover ran out in 2010, after which he moved back to the United States and the CD Chivas USA joined.

In his season in Major League Soccer, he completed ten games for Chivas. On 15 February 2011 he moved to the Portland Timbers.

National

Zizzo completed in August 2007 against Sweden his first game for the A Selection of the United States. Previously, he participated in the Junior World Cup in 2007 in Canada as an U -20 national team of the United States.
