Salou Djibo

Salou Djibo ( born April 15, 1965 in Namaro ) is a Nigerien officer. When the coup on February 18, 2010, he was Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Restoration of Democracy ( CSRD ) and thus de facto head of state of Niger.

Curriculum vitae

Salou Djibo belongs to the ethnicity of the Zarma and was commander of the garrison in Niger's capital Niamey. He was trained in the Ivory Coast, Morocco and the People's Republic of China. Djibo served the peacekeepers of the United Nations in Ivory Coast and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Before the coup Djibo commander of the military zone 1, Niamey and Dosso regions and includes Tilabéri was thus controlled 40 percent of the national military arsenal.

Objectives of the coup

The CSRD has claimed that it was his goal to make Niger an example of democracy and good governance. He also had announced that he wanted a people in the country as the situation is catastrophic.
