Salve a ti, Nicaragua
The Nicaraguan national anthem Salve a ti, Nicaragua ( Hail to thee, Nicaragua) was composed in 1918 by Luis Abraham Delgadillo. A new text was added in 1939 and comes from Salomón Ibarra Mayorga. Was officially confirmed as the national anthem of the song on 20 October 1939.
The melody comes from a liturgical chant of the 17th century, when Nicaragua was still a Spanish colony. During the first years after independence, it was played in honor of the Supreme Court, since Nicaragua at that time belonged to the Central American Confederation.
Later, the anthem was temporarily replaced by a total of three various other hymns; 1918, it was reintroduced. At that time a competition was announced for a new text, the words "peace" and had to be included "work" because Nicaragua had just survived a civil war. Therefore, the Nicaraguan anthem is the only Central America, which is not about war, but only peace.
