Sam Clayton

Sam Clayton (* in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a rock percussionist, who was primarily known for his work with Little Feat.

Clayton rose in 1970 in the music scene when he supported Delaney & Bonnie on her album To Bonnie from Delaney. He was then a member of Little Feat, where he made his debut the following year on Dixie Chicken 1972. In addition to his work with Little Feat, he also played in productions of other artists, including Valerie Carter, Chico Hamilton, Freddie King, Robert Palmer, Bonnie Raitt and Richard Torrance.

After the separation, Little Feats 1979 Clayton 1980 Bob Seger helped on the Against the Wind, and later took part in the recording of albums by Jimmy Barnes, Jimmy Buffett and Timothy B. Schmit. In 1988, he rejoined Little Feat, which started a reunion. In the 1990s, Clayton continued his work as a studio musician, for example for publications of Johnny Hallyday, Howard Jones and Travis Tritt.
