Sam Zimbalist

Sam Zimbalist ( born March 31, 1904 in New York, NY, USA, † November 4, 1958 in Rome, Italy) was an American film producer.

To Zimbalists known productions include the films Tarzan Finds a Son ( 1939), Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944 ), King Solomon's Mines with Deborah Kerr and Stewart Granger (1950), Quo vadis? with Robert Taylor and Peter Ustinov (1951 ), Mogambo with Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner and Clark Gable (1953) and Beau Brummel - a rebel and a seducer with Stewart Granger, Peter Ustinov and Elizabeth Taylor ( 1954).

Zimbalist died of a myocardial infarction during the filming of Ben Hur. Posthumously he received for the Oscar for best movie to which he already Vadis Quo? had been nominated.
