Samuel Carlisi

Samuel A. Carlisi aka "Black Sam ", " Sam Wings" (* December 15, 1914 in Chicago, † January 2, 1997 ibid ), was an American mobster and former boss of the Chicago Outfit.

Life

Samuel A. Carlisi began as a driver of Joseph Aiuppa, as this boss is "street crew" (am.: Street team) outfit in Cicero (Illinois ) was.

He received his Spitznanem Wings because he was in the 1970s as a courier for the family throughout the United States on the go. When Joseph Ferriola boss of the outfit was, Carlisi rose to become the " underboss ". Presumably, he was involved in the murder of Michael and Tony Spilotro.

In 1986, he was together with his bosses because of the levy (am.: skimming ) condemned the casinos in Las Vegas. As Ferriola died, he became the head of the outfit.

On December 15, 1992, he was together with his driver and Deputy James Marcello and five other members (including Anthony Zizzo, Anthony Chiara Monti, Gill Valerio ) from its "street crew" in the western suburbs of Chicago in court. On December 16, 1993, all defendants were sentenced according to the indictment.

In 1996, the sentencing to 13 years in prison has been set. As in his cancer was diagnosed, he gave up control of the daily business of the outfit.

In the meantime, he was put together in 1993 with his successor John DiFronzo, which many crimes were accused in San Diego, in court. Both should have tried to gain control over gambling in the Ricon reservation. The prosecution was struck down and DiFronzo released in 1994.

On 2 January 1997 Carlisi died of a heart attack while serving his prison.
