San Juan de Payara

San Juan de payara is a village in the Venezuelan state of Apure and administrative headquarters of the district municipality of Pedro Camejo.

This settlement was founded in 1768 by the priest Jerónimo de Lucena. The first inhabitants were Indians of Yaruros, Warao, Otomacks and Tarapitas.

Policy

In the National Assembly in 2010 elections 67.11 % of voters voted for the candidates of the PSUV.
